It's been a fairly uneventful week or two for WSotE. This should have given the non- party's councillors plenty of time to show the public that they could actually deliver on their multiple pledges to improve “transparency” and “openness”.

Sadly it's a bit tricky to see what, if anything, they've achieved. Members of the public still find themselves forced to sign up to Facebook, should they wish to view the words of King Welch, or Cllrs Hulmeston, Newton, Fletcher, and Murphy. Worse still, Cllrs Boone, Clare, Hulmeston, Fletcher and Mault are well known to arbitrarily block members of the public from accessing their pages.

Hardly “Transparent” or “open” behaviour, and yet these failures pale in comparison to the grating WSotE public interactions following Remembrance Sunday. The absence of any comment at all from 8 of their councillors might have been overlooked, had it not been for Cllr Simon Boone's unprovoked attacks on his Labour colleagues, along with his shameless promotion of WSotE.¹⁾

Via his Facebook page, the rodent-in-chief incorrectly accused Cllr Pardoe of being disrespectful for wearing his mayor's medal at the Remembrance service.²⁾ Not content with venting his spleen solely at Cllr Pardoe, he chose to call Cllr Bingham's military service into question, which prompted a polite, but clearly angry response from which Cllr Bingham, who felt that he should publicly set the record straight,³⁾ adding that self-serving political point scoring such as that demonstrated by Cllr Boone is one of the reasons why he prefers to remember his fallen comrades in privacy.

We hope that all WSotE councillors will be quick to condemn Cllr Boone's despicable behaviour, and that he will offer a public apology to all concerned.

Moving on, Cllr Boone seems to have spent a lot of time since our last update doing nothing of use to Winsford Residents, choosing instead to continue his public squabble with Cllr Mellor.⁴⁾ He tried desperately to sound cool⁵⁾ following an edited photograph of him wearing a MWGA hat surfacing on Facebook, but missed the mark by about 3 decades.

We're not sure why Cllr Boone is so obsessed with posting photographs of police speed traps,⁶⁾ nor can we tell why he seems so pleased that his pre-election flyer for WSotE is still on display in his local chippy,⁷⁾ given that it's a pack of lies.

This pointless waste of taxpayers money is harmless enough, however Cllr Boone just cannot seem to do anything constructive in town or within Cheshire West, where his CWAC colleagues are reportedly getting quite tired of him.

Despite never having been a town councillor, CWAC Cllr Boone once again accused Labour councillors of a fictional “town wide smear campaign”,⁸⁾ yet in his next breath he hypocritically smeared Labour, claiming that they tried to sabotage women's charity Edna's Laundrette!⁹⁾ As usual, Cllr Boone twisted the truth, and while it is a fact that the charity did not receive council funding that year, Edna's Laundrette were participants in the (previous, Labour led -ed) council's extremely popular participatory budgeting experiment “Winsford Decides”, and simply didn't win enough of the public's vote.

Perhaps if Corrupt TERF Cllr Mandy Clare hadn't given it to her boyfriend's Motorcycle club, Ride to Raise, she could have supported Edna's Laundrette with some money from her £5,000 CWAC-provided discretionary fund? The fact that she didn't speaks volumes about her true motives when it comes to local projects intended to support women.

Continuing the lunacy, Cllr Boone shared a post in which he pontificated about running as an independent Mid Cheshire MP¹⁰⁾ - Something that would clearly be a catastrophe on every level.

Further evidence that the ideologies of the Rat Bike, Cllr Mandy Clare has been “rubbing off” on Cllr Simon has been surfacing, such as the vile right wing propaganda segment “The Gender Agenda”¹¹⁾, recently shared by him.¹²⁾

Cllr Boone attacked Labour CWAC spending,¹³⁾ but as usual fails to explain himself at all, so we're left guessing as to exactly what he imagines Labour have done.

Self promotion is nothing new to Cllr Boone, and it seems that he is now a big fan of the local food bank.¹⁴⁾ This comes as something of a surprise, since he has previously been “quite critical” of those involved with the food bank.

Cllr Boone continues to bore the town with his idiotically worded Wharton Hill Poll, claiming that three CWAC councillors are now committed to undoing the change made by Cllr Pardoe.¹⁵⁾ We wonder who the third councillor mentioned is? In any case, our much better poll shows he is clearly barking up the wrong tree, with most residents being happy with the existing layout.

Perhaps the only recent action taken by Cllr Boone that hasn't been unpleasant, has been to reshare his new girlfriend's post to Tory MP Edward Timpson regarding the issues GPs are having offering COVID vaccines.¹⁶⁾

Generally, WSotE have posted mostly about the Christmas festivities, such as the Meet Santa and Mince Pie Events, and about St. Lukes. They have reshared the WTC Firework display pictures, the Winsford police family Christmas card photo, and have been keen to promote Winsford Workzone.

Cllr Mellor additionally promoted “Community grow”, and posted some pictures of her mum, alongside some uselessly vague mental health and domestic abuse information.

Cllr Newton shared the Lifestyle Centre's White Ribbon Awareness day in aid of domestic abuse.¹⁷⁾ He also advertised his online radio station many, many times.

Cllrs Welch, Daniels, and Newton seem to be very excited to post about the opening of new fitness centre “Body Tech”. This fits in well on King Welch's Facebook page, which focuses in no small part on promoting businesses belonging to his friends.

Trying to look as if she has been hard at work, Cllr Clare has posted about the upcoming surgeries at Winsford Library¹⁸⁾. We now know that this event, the last of which was announced with well under 24 hours notice, is intended to be a monthly affair.

Cllr Clare seems to be scraping the bottom of the barrel however, when it comes to reporting progress to the public, making claims that they have “re-reported” a broken window at the library, sent an email (about what?) following a visit to the market, and that she is “planning for the next Full Council” (we should hope so!). We are also unsure why Cllr Clare, who is a CWAC and not a WTC councillor, is claiming to be handling Winsford neighbour disputes?

Cllr Boone's regular rant about the town centre toilets¹⁹⁾ being shared by his girlfriend and the Rodent Army, comes as no surprise either.

The rodent duo posted about the closure of Weaver Vale Housing Trust (WVHT) operated Cotswold House,²⁰⁾ with Cllr Clare taking the opportunity to insult men suffering from abuse, and joining Cllr Boone in taking a baseless, cheap shot at CWAC Labour councillors - Suggesting that they could find more funding for the project, despite the Tory squeezing of our county councils, and completely ignoring the fact that it is in fact WVHT and not CWAC who made the decision to close the Women's shelter.

There really is no good way to summarise WSotE activity over the last two weeks. Cllr Daniels appears to be becoming frustrated with his colleagues continual rule-breaking, but simultaneously seems too apathetic to actually do anything about it. Other WSotE councillors seem to be doing similarly little, and there is absolutely no leadership on display whatsoever.

Maybe next week they'll do something useful?
